Dude – hows about making the link to the ‘ipodVersion.mp4’ the first link in your posts. If I get one more of those shite-useless flash8.flv turds downloaded thru my podcatcher Im gunna unsubscribe!!

Sorry dude. It’s been working fine in iTunes and I didn’t realize other podcatchers had a problem. So yours is pulling down the FLV but not the MP4?
Surprise Cam but not everyone uses iTunes as a podcatcher. I use it for a few podcasts but I must prefer a seperate podcatcher (iPodderX) as I prefer the way to sorts the files in iTunes as opposed to how iTunes does it.
Also in iTunes unless you set it up you get unsubscribed if you don’t listen to a few shows in a row which sucks royally.
You get unsubscribed what? I’ve never had THAT happen to me. Anyway dudes… so all I need to do is put the ipod link first in the post and you think that will work for you?
My understanding with podcasts thru iTunes is if you don’t listen to something like 5 shows according to how it monitors podcasts it unsubscribes you from that show.
I think there are work arounds around, maybe through preferences but that is how it’s set up as a default.
My computer seems to have major objections to these vids. It played the first three but all the rest are all mangled and the sound doesnt match the video and when I try to download the ipod format ones itunes only makes a token effort at playing them…

Could you also fix the mime type you’re giving these videos? The mp4 file is a video, but you’re giving it mimetype “audio/x-mp4”. I skip enclosures based on the mime type, but I just got home from vacation to d/l over 100M of video I don’t want! If it’s video, mark it video, man!
Ken, sorry man. Must be because I’ve been sticking them out through my regular podcast feed. I’ll stop doing that and only put them out through the new video feed. Mea culpa dude…

In the States using IE and they have worked fine for me. But then I just view from the site not through a itunes or the like at the moment.
When are we going to get an audio show, I need my fix, or should I go through the detox? I just don’t watch the video’s, not got a iPod Video and don’t really have the time when I am at a PC. Maybe you need a separate RSS feed?
Tony: It doesn’t unsubscribe you as such. It simply stops downloading them until you tell it to start again. You’ll see a “!” symbol. Click it, and it asks if you’d like to continue downloading or unsubscribe.

WRT the videos…I may or may not want them, but I certainly don’t want them on my $60 Sandisk MP3 player, which is where they would have ended up. *grin* Gotta have some way to identify ’em!
I thought Steve was great, watching him and others in similar shows go through the landscape made me want to move to Australia.
I decided not to comment on Cam’s comments for a day or so to let them sink in.
Driving home last night I thought althought he had been out of the Aussie mind set somewhat (as others have said) because to my knowledge he doesn’t have any shows on down here, the Australian Zoo would have been one of the first things thought about when you go to that area of Australia as a Tourist attraction.
On the embarassment factor? None here (and not just saying that). Love that sort of Aussie thats not affaired to be an aussie attidude! Maybe the embarassment was only among the fancy pants, latte sipping crowd that you get around with Cam. For the normal person like me, he was great.
One of the lasting memories of him for me (apart from the one of him wrestling a plastic Croc with Rove) was the fact that he did a video and CD with the wiggles and my kidds loved it!

Charlie, the audio shows will still be coming. Soon! I promise! This week. Without failure. As for diff video formats… too hard. Flash and Mpeg isnt enough? Is the DivX request for another portable player?
My iTunes is having a fit over the vid files in this feed, can you remove them Cam? I can’t download any other podcasts without deleting the whole feed. iTunes 6.0.5 on OSX 10.2
