How can one introduce a person like our 25th guest to appear On the Pod???
Howard Rheingold does not really need any introduction, and if he does, you should run out right now to your nearest bookstore (or go to Amazon on your browser of choice) and buy his last book “Smart Mobs”…nah…scratch that…go and buy all of his books. Why??? Because Howard has been involved in some of the most important projects involving modems and PC’s since the early 80’s, including; VR, social software and networks, The Well, HotWired, Electric Minds, Brainstorms and the power of mobile technology in modern communities around the world. We chat to Howard about all of those subjects and more…
Its not often that you get to talk to someone who has played such a big part in your life, but this one of those moments for me…we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
Great show guys. Once you got into it remembered that this guy was on one of my favorite Doco’s: Nerds 2.0.1 hosted by Robert Cringely (if you haven’t seen this, do yourself a favour!).
But the highlight for me was the ad at the end of the interview. I hate this saying but: Mick, you finaly have got it! That ad made me (although I hang out here a lot) want to get the other shows (especially the teasers in there for the movie show and the VC show (wasn’t it mentioned months ago?)).
Anyway, keep up the good work.
Molly
Wonderful interview, thank you. I loved Howard’s poignant examples of interfacing technology with real life experiences. I hope you can continue to attract such high calibre guests. On a similar tack, Derek Powazek, author of Design for Community and many interesting websites would be very interesting. I wonder if Podcasting will ever evolve to incorporate something like talkback radio? Kate
