This is my software discovery of the day: RealVNC. I was looking for an easy way to print from my laptop over my wireless network to my USB printer attached to the desktop. I read someone saying they use VNC for this so I checked it out. It’s not the simple solution for printing that I was looking for, but it does seem like a terrific way for me to control my desktop remotely – over the wireless network at home or over the net from afar.
RealVNC comes in a variety of flavours. I’m using the free edition. I have the server version installed on the desktop and the viewer installed on my laptop. Installation was idiot proof and took 30 seconds. Now I can run my desktop from my laptop. It’s faster and simpler than any other remote control system I’ve tried in the past.
Now… can anyone suggest a way to print?

Watching RAGE in bed while checking email this morning and I caught this track "Download This Song" by MC Lars. Man, what a classic. How big is this going to be? Brilliant marketing. Check out his MySpace. Speaking of RAGE, have you guys seen the ABC’s new video on demand service? Not too bad. Couldn’t find any flash though, just WMV and RM.

Nui TeKoha has posted up a classic telephone interview with George Clinton up on Nui’s Rave. For you kids out there who don’t know who George is, you would absolutely recognise "bow wow wow yippie yo yippie yay" from his classic track Atomic Dog which has been sampled a million times, including Snoop Dogg’s song "What’s My Name?". George’s music has been central to the G-Funk sound. As George says on the interview "Atomic Dog was the beginning of hip-hop." He encourages rappers to sample his music.
