G’DAY WORLD #287 – Kevin Anderson, The Guardian’s Blog Editor (X | Media | Lab)

Another video from X | Media | Labs (yes, Caroline and Melissa, I’m getting there)… this one is with the gentleman I prefer to think of as Mr Suw Kevin Anderson. Kevin is the Blog Editor at The Guardian in the UK. In this short video (my tape ran out at the end of a long day), Kevin gives his views on how MSM sites distinguish between a journalist’s blog and their articles.

    G’DAY WORLD #278 – Shekhar Kapur, Film Director (X | Media | Lab)

Shekhar Kapur, born 6 December 1945 in British India (in an area which became part of Pakistan) is a renowned filmmaker from India. His works include Elizabeth (1998), Bandit Queen (1994) and his new film, Elizabeth: The Golden Age (2007).

He writes a very revealing blog (link) and is trying to raise $1 Billion for a new media fund for investment in Asia (link). He was recently at the X | MEDIA | LAB in Melbourne. I captured an interview he did on stage with XML founder, Brendan Harkin.

    G’DAY WORLD #277 – Brendan Harkin, X|Media|Lab

On August 10 2007 I attended the X|Media|Lab in Melbourne and had the opportunity to interview a number of the key speakers. I’ll be putting those interviews up over the next week. This first one is with Brendan Harkin, the Founder and Director of X|Media|Lab.

Brendan founded X|Media|Lab in June 2003. X|Media|Lab is the internationally acclaimed cross-disciplinary creative thinktank for digital media professionals which brings together some of the world’s outstanding creatives, executives, and power-brokers to work as mentors with local companies on their own digital media project ideas.

The Will Arnett video take 2

Miriam pointed out to me (a couple of times) that the flash version of my interview with actor Will Arnett ended abruptly. When I checked it out yesterday I noticed that the original flash video is borked. And as I didn’t keep the original avi version, I’m having trouble re-doing it. So if you haven’t seen the whole thing, just get the MP4 version.

Watch Cam interview Hollywood star Will Arnett here.

    G’DAY WORLD #247 – Highlights from MODM 2

MODM 2 was last week and I think most folks had a great time. I certainly did. I think we had about 50 people there, which is pretty good for our first real event. Thanks again to our sponsors Eight Black and to our guest speaker Dr Peter Ellyard.

Here’s a video of Peter’s talk about future makers versus future takers and the difference between management and leadership.

Are you a member of Facebook yet? If so, join the MODM group. And keep an eye on the MODM website. The next event will be held Thursday July 5th, and the plan is to hold it again at ACMI Lounge. This next event will be sponsored by Microsoft Silverlight.

    G’DAY WORLD #246 – 50 Questions with Will Arnett

I had the chance today to spend 15 minutes with Will Arnett, one of the stars of the new Will Ferrell/Jon Heder comedy “Blades Of Glory“. I caught the film earlier this week and it’s very funny, a lot funnier than I expected it to be actually. Definitely gets higher marks than Talladega Nights.

Arnett is probably best known as Gob from the now-canceled TV series “Arrested Development“. but he’s also been in films such as “Monster-in-Law“, “RV” and a small role in “The Sopranos“.

I’d like to thank Bruce Moyle and the boys at Coolshite for hooking me up with Paramount.
