Today I’m recording from the ANZA Tech Conference 2006 in Sunnyvale, CA.
My guests on the show include:
- Richard Geasey, District Manager – Seattle Washington, Austrade, talking about how Austrade helps Aussies do business in the good ol’ USA
- Dr Tim van Gelder, Austhink Software, creators of critical thinking software Rationaleâ„¢, talking about how their product helps you make better decisions
- David Evans, CEO, In The Chair, a music technology company, talking about how his product helps kids learn to play music and also about being an entrepreneur. David is presenting his company at O’Reilly’s Web2.0 next week, so he’s rocking.
I just had a pleasant chat with David Lawson who is the Australian Consul-General for the Pacific Northwest and he’s promised to help me out if I end up in Guantanamo Bay which was awfully nice of him.
Cam – as entertaining as ever…esp. the interview with the Austrade guy and the double deeping practice 🙂
Glad to hear about David Evans and the In the Chair stuff – simply amazing and David is such a nice guy…even Cam could not corner him 🙂
Well done! Keep up the good fight! And thanks for the acknowledgement!
A Freudian slip made me write double deeping when I meant double dipping…come to think of it…really what’s the difference!?
Now – is Austrade a NFP organisation?
Shouldn’t all government orgs be NFP?
Hmm…yeah…but at USD 300 per hour…why do then need any tax payers’ money then???
$300 an hour is my personal rate to let Cam crash at my place, after all that’s what HE charges. Austrade is less than that!
Mate!
I sent you this in your email but I got an autoreply back, and then I thought I would send you a copy here.
Being an American, I feel for you having to drink sub standard coffee. Most hotel chains and office conference rooms in America carry sub standard coffee. Even the mass produced “Folgers” et al is sub standard IMO.
Having lived in Boston, I say you need to get over sometime and try our Blue collar/white collar / every collar staple drink, Dunkin Donuts Coffee.
There are HUNDREDS of DDs in the Boston area. They have the best tasting coffe of any American chain IMO. I know it might not be as good as Melbourne. You can order the coffee by the pound online. They just recently opened up Dunkin Donuts here in Nashville. They may or may not get the iced coffee right or do very well here (except fatasses eating donuts – most people in Boston go in and buy coffee and not donuts)
Hope your stay here is going well for you.
Chris… you’re kidding with me… right? DD coffee? Now, I’ve never tried it. I’ve never even been into a Dunkin Donut. But COME ON. It just doesn’t sound like real coffee at all. How do they make it? Filtered?
Cam anything is worth a try when it comes to being in America when you have a severe coffee addiction… although given the amount of time you’re likely to be spending in the us it may be worth giving up and developing a taste for red bull.
Cam if you need real beans, I can mail you some from Lygon Street.
No Cam,
Its the Arabica choice beans. They sell it in either whole bean or ground. you can brew it however you like, but in the store, they brew it filtered. Is there a superior way>? French Press?
Anyway Its the best mass produced coffee in America IMO. Again, I have never had Melbourne coffee or Jamacian.
Just trying to help you out bruva.
