The AFL Show returns to TPN

Even though I know less than zero about this thing they call “Aussie Rules”, I know it’s somehow important to my fellow countrymen. And that’s why I’m pleased to announce that, after a one year absence, the AFL Show returns to The Podcast Network. New hosts, Jeff and Paul, kicked off their custodianship of the show by talking about the current pre-season matches. This is the AFL show where everyone gets to play. Check it out here.

GDAY WORLD #203 – Fabian Frei’s Thesis on Podcasting

I got an email a couple of days ago from Fabian Frei, a student at The University of St Gallen in Switzerland, who is writing his master’s thesis on innovation in the podcasting scene and wanted to chat to me about TPN, so of course I recorded tonight’s interview.

If you enjoyed this podcast, make sure you don’t miss future episodes by subscribing to our feed and leave us a voice comment!

Get The TPN Widget Today!

Tim King from +grooveARMY has written a brilliant widget for TPN which will run on your desktop to make sure you never miss another TPN podcast!

The Podcast Network widget

The Yahoo! Widget Engine (formerly known as Konfabulator) is a JavaScript runtime engine for Windows and Mac OS X that lets you run little files called Widgets that can do pretty much whatever you want them to. With the TPN widget, it will sit unobtrusively on your desktop and display the latest 14 podcasts from across TPN. Pretty cool huh!?

For his efforts, Tim wins the coveted “TPN Contributor Of The Month Award” which entitles him to buy me lunch at the café or restaurant of my choice. Congratulations Tim!

Beta Test the TPN Toolbar

Ewan Spence knocked this together for us yesterday.
THE TPN TOOLBAR.

It’s a toolbar for FF and IE which will make it easier for you to listen to the latest TPN podcasts. It has a built-in media player and is pre-populated with the top 20 TPN shows (based on our previous month’s stats). It also has a button which replicates the “Latest Shows” box on the TPN hompage and which shows you the very latest TPN podcasts published each day. Another button shows you the latest TPN news.

Would a couple of you mind testing it for me in FF and IE and giving me your feedback?
