He explains Novamente’s approach to AGI (artificial general intelligence) and their plans to release some of their early products into the Second Life universe. We also talk about:

  1. the history and challenges of AI research
  2. his investment in Aubrey de Grey’s Methuselah Foundation
  3. the recent news about IBM’s Blue Gene/L simulating half a mouse brain
  4. Damien Broderick
  5. Roger Williams
  6. Ray Kurzweil

and much more.

I was wondering where you were. I thought you’d like this one. Has anyone else listened to it??? The silence is worrying. Over everyone’s heads?

I’ve had a combination of crazy busy with assignments and being sick. Hence the overall uncharacteristic silence.

I don’t imagine it was over everyone’s heads. Perhaps as the material isn’t really in most peoples comfort zones they simply felt that they didn’t have anything useful to contribute. Not everyone is as comfortable leaving entirely pointless comments as I am 🙂

Yeah sorry about that, the file seems to have been lost in a server crash we had a couple of years ago. I’ll try to find a backup. Thanks for letting me know.
