Want to increase your Gmail storage to 10Gb? Want to get rid of text ads beside your email?
Then you might want to check out Google Apps Premier Edition! This is very cool. My Gmail account is almost full and I’ve been listening to Jason Calacanis bitch for months about how he wants more Gmail storage and I thought I was going to have the same problem. Not any more!
Okay, so this probably won’t be a challenge to Microsoft’s dominance of the VERY LARGE enterprises for a while, but that’s not the battleground. Small and Medium business is a much bigger market for these product than the big end of town. I remember from my MSFT days that the big revenue growth was expected to come out of SME. Now they have some serious competition.
Yeah… but who wants to pay 50 bucks a year for it?
Besides, I can’t see storing 10 GB of mail for any reason… anything REALLY important, I download to my HD and burn off to DVD. Do I really need access to email conversations from 3 years ago?
One of my pet peeves is that gmail won’t allow a 4-letter email address, so I have to use long versions of my name in order to access my accounts. I prefer to use something a bit more generic than my full name.
(Do I sound paranoid?)
Paranoid? No. Nuts? yes.
Back up your email to DVD??
Hey Herne – I have 1995 on the phone. They want that idea back.
What do you do when you want to retrieve one of those emails…. go try to find a DVD? Frakking hell. How much easier is it to just keep it in the cloud?
I’ve already used up 96% of my 2Gb Gmail account, so I will EASILY pay $50 for the additional 48Gb. Wasn’t a few years ago when I was paying Hotmail $80 a year for 200Mb!
Cam, I don’t keep nothin “in the cloud.”
If it’s easy for me to find stuff, how easy is it for someone else to find stuff I don’t want found? (Yeah…paranoid)
You PAID for Hotmail? Man! So you were the one!
how about making another gmail account got backup. eg, cameronr2006backup@gmail.com and dump that year into it??? does that sound like a good idea or does it sound like a good idea.
will, $50 to Google sounds easier. 🙂
hmm, i wonder if they will say, pay $50 a month and youtube will come down faster and be as clear as the original file that was uploaded 😉 as well as in the format that was uploaded for download ;):)
