I need to clean a bunch of entries out of my Windows registry. Using regedit it going to take me forever. There has to be a freeware tool that will allow me to search the registry for a particular term and delete all entries. Any recommendations? I’ve spent a while looking for a nice one today but can’t find anything for a reasonable price.

HijackThis is useful.
Cam sounds like you be where I am… Rebuild. Although I am in a position where apps are getting unexplained run-time errors and shit like that.
Seriously though, I don’t know of any tool that can do this that I would trust. PITA but at least the registry will be clean.
nah mate, just trying to get rid of a couple of applications that aren’t uninstalling properly.
Macs don’t have a registry 😛
Yeah… It always annoyed me that Windoze always builds up a bunch of crap–registry entries, swap files, etc–and the only way to get rid of them is to completely reformat and reinstall. It’s a pain in the backside.
Whereas, on my Mac, all I have to do is trash a folder and the application is gone. Go into the preference folder and trash the preference for that app., and “poof” it’s clean.
Why can’t someone come up with a decent Windoze cleaner? Which reminds me…I need a bigger HD anyway.
yet another reason to get a Mac… I wish people would stop doing that!
Awwww Dave. I just do it to stir people mostly but in this case it’s also true.
I was always a Windows person as well until I took the leap to Mac and can’t imagine using anything else now. All I miss are ome games and when I get intel Mac and load XP on that then I can do that again.
