Synching iPod games between machines

While I was in the US, I bought the Texas Hold Em game for my iPod from iTunes. Quick review – it rocks! Very nicely put together and quite addictive.

Okay, so much for the good news. Here’s the bad news. I bought it from my laptop and synched it to my iPod. So far so good. Of course when I got home yesterday and synched my iPod with my desktop, the game disappeared! I’ve just spent the last 15 minutes trying to figure out how to get the game back on my desktop and so far, no luck.

I’ve googled it and can’t easily find the solution. Any iTunes gurus out there who want to give me a hint?

  1. I’ve not gotten any games, but generally, the iPod synch is from the Desktop to the iPod, so if you don’t have the game on the Desktop, it won’t be in the iPod. The iPod is designed not to take things from the iPod and put it on your Desktop, otherwise it would be really easy to share MP3s via the iPod.

I would hazard a guess that this scenario was not allowed for by Apple.

Can you re-download it for free onto your Desktop?

  2. hey i dont know how to put games on ther at all and i need help could u help me just like put it on my i pod nano its a 2 gig can i put it on there

  3. Ditto! There seems to be a lot of confusion as to iPod games on the Nano. The Nano does not have any video gaming capabilities, period. You cannot play games or music videos on them. If you want to do this You have to invest in the Video iPod to do that.

And for those of you trying to load iTune games on your iPod Shuffle…

  4. i bought ms pacman and it is under games on i-tunes. everything is legal, but i cant put the game on my i-pod. i have a video i-pod, too. Anyone know what to do?
