My co-host, the right honourable J. David Markham, did an interview recently with a journalist from USA TODAY and as a result our little show got a small mention in a bigger article about podcasting. Of course, they named the show incorrectly and didn’t link to it in the online article, but it’s still nice of them.
Here’s an online copy of the article.
Hi Cameron,
I am a newcomer to Napoleon 101 and have been reading the podcast segments 3 or 4 a day to catch up. While I am not specifically a fanatic about Napoleon, lets just say I read a lot of history. It so happens that i had read one of David’s books about a year before I found this podcast at the iTunes store.
I commute about 2 hours everyday to and from work (in total) so I have lots of listening time on my hands. And I really enjoy this series.
You asked on the podcast for suggestions, so here goes: I am also a big fan of Scottish historian Nial Ferguson who has written quite extensively on 19th and 20th century empires and their impact on world affairs. I would enjoy a guest segment on Napoleon 101 inviting Ferguson on the show to debate with yourself and David the impact of the Napoeonic empire on 19th and 20th century affairs.
How does that sound?
I live in Toronto, Canada. I own my own business, am an independent Apple dealer, and a former journalist, accountant, and sometimes economist and historian.
Cameron,
I just discovered this podcast last week, and after 6 episodes it has become a favorite of mine. Great work and I look forward to the rest of them.
BTW, if I were to read one book on Napolean what would you suggest?
Hi Edwin, glad you are enjoying the Napoleon podcast! As for recommendations, I have two:
“Napoleon For Dummies” by J. David Markham and “Napoleon” by Vincent Cronin. You can buy David’s books from our site:
