An Aeron. I want one. I have wanted one for ten years. Now… I think I finally deserve one. I spend all day sitting in front of this PC. I need comfort. I need bounce. I need a little bit of luxury.
Surely… one of you has a bunch of them sitting around at your office, hardly being used, that you picked up cheap after the DC1 crash. Think about donating one to poor me (You have to say those last two words in the voice of Livia Soparano… “oh, pooooor you”). Let me know what time to come around. I’ll meet you at the back entrance. No-one will notice.
I had one as my office chair in my days as a CEO during DC1. They sure are comfy. But are you sure they don’t magically cause you to lose vast amounts of money?
I am afraid that I use the 4 I have in my home office all the time with people over, etc. However, if you pop for the (in my case $600-$700 US, and what looks like > $1200 (AU)) for one, they will come out and fix it for free during its 10-year warranty.
I just had all my chairs overhauled after years of hard use, cost to me: $0.

we got them in the Melbourne office – not as neat as you think they’ll be.
Gladwell wrote up the story behind them in Blink – worth the read.
Adam, yeah I remember man, those were the days. I loved my chair. I wish I’d negotiated to take it with me when I left! I was actually reminded what I’m missing out on when i listened to a Gladwell podcast from an old Pop!tech on the weekend where he told the story that’s in his book. Fantastic story!
They are just not worth the price. Yeah they look good, but they are an executive chair, not a geek chair, they are really not good for sitting at a PC all day. Also, the Aero is not the best Herman Miller Chair – that has to go to the Mira – it’s been designed by a computer and it’s made out of mostly recycled plastic, and it’s much more comfortable, but still not a good geek chair.
still has one, and loves it, not sure it is worth the price tag.
Grays Online dude! They appear in office auctions from time to time

I too await one to bless my butt with much anticipation…..
OK so the whole world knows the aeron and sings it’s praises, there are ergonomic office chairs for less than half the money of the aeron, have a good look around I’m sure you can find the things you need without getting arrested.
