“Ayn Rand’s Literature of Capitalism” is the title of a new article written by HARRIET RUBIN for The New York Times.
“The Fountainhead” and “Atlas Shrugged” are two of the most influential books I have ever read. I was fortunate enough to have them recommended to me when I was in my early 20s and I have read both of them more times than I can remember since then. They never fail to inspire me to try to achieve everything I can with my life.
Great books. I have been recommending them to my son but of course it would be best for me to hide them away and not mention them if I really want him to read them I suspect 😉
Of course Ayn Rand was a nutter and some of her followers nuttier still. Still, Atlas Shrugged should be required reading for anyone looking to understand the world, and how different, points of view can be.
Speaking of capitalism Cam, what do you think about the debate about users blocking advertisements in Firefox as “stealing” of content? I just heard a bit about it on the Global Geeks Podcast the other day.
Herne – I think it’s stupid.
Yeah, I think the GGP is pretty stupid too… er, wait, that’s not what you meant! Sorry Tim and Dave!
I think the idea that users who block advertisements are “stealing” content is pretty stupid too.
